Restoration of Fire Damaged Property

What is involved in the restoration process of a fire damaged property? It's not just gutting and refinishing.

When a property is torn through by fire, it causes havoc to the whole structure. For this three story residential buiding, the fire has gone through the roof. PRR Construction is proud to present our most impressive Fire Restoration Project at Worthington Street, Springfield Mass.

It was a serious decision to try and restore it. The damages caused
allkinds of code violations. A lot of framing were damaged. A large portion of the roof rafter was gone. Worst yet, the property was neglected for a period of time. Thus water from rain and snow had have it chance of seeping freely through the three floors. The poor hardwood floorings, supposed to be beautiful at one point, had absorbed all the moisture they need to warp and pop.

This 3,600 square feet building was burned from the second floor through its roof. The structure must be gutted. It was brave of Tony, our crew leader, to be willing to rebuild the roof and rehabilitate the property from the ground up.

New front and back steps were built along with front decks for both floors. New doors, windows, siding and roof were a given. Along with the rehabilitation, some floor plans were altered to allow separate front and rear entrances for each apartment. And electric circuit breakers were installed in each apartment individually. Occupants will no longer having to run all the way to the basement in the event a short circuit occurs!

Why did we do it? Maybe just because we are in the business of fixing things up! Besides, the place is spacious and gorgeous. It was time consuming to rehab such a large structure with such extensive damage. We are glad that it was done and finished up.We did it. And we can't be more proud of it.
